Hi! This is Elise McMahon with Expert Village and in this video series we’re talking about
how to travel with your dog. If you would like to find out more about my services you
can visit my web site canineheadstart.com. So we’re talking about the benefits of exercising
your dog while you’re on the road, while you’re traveling. If your dog is used to
as mine are, getting a lot of running around the time outdoors, in the woods, going for
lot of walks it’s important to keep that up. If you’re going to be traveling to a
city you can go online find out where there are city dog friendly parks, if you’re going
to be staying in hotels or motels try to choose one that have a little bit of green and little
bit of exercise area around them. Getting your dog exercise is important for their mental
well-being while you’re traveling. Sometimes the stress of being longtime in a car can
be difficult for the dogs that are not used to it. Ideally prepare your dog for travel
before hand by having them travel your car as you can see Ursa here just gets in her
crate and goes to sleep. My guys are so used to traveling that they just jump in the car
and they go to sleep so it is really not stressful for them but I do like to make sure that they
get plenty of exercise. So taking him to a dog park if they’re social with other dogs
getting them together with other dogs and this dog park can be a great release for energy
and get some exercise. So it’s one thing we want to have in mind. Obviously if you’re
going to be going hiking or camping with your dog you are going to be getting them exercise
anyway just out in the trials everyday but think about it if you’re going to be going
to a place that’s more a city urban that you might be to plan some periods of time
in there for your dog specifically get an exercise now of course it’s always going
to be a benefit to you too because while you are exercising your dog you are exercising
yourself.
