I want students to have great opportunities, no matter where they live, or what language they speak.
I believe that that is what we stand for in Ontario, that there is access no matter where you live.
That's why we're working to make it easier for Francophone students to study French in
the field of their choice, so that no matter what program a student may choose, that they
will have access. Francophone students who travel at
travel at least 80km will now qualify for Ontario Distance Grants, no matter where they live.
That is not the situation now, but we are changing that so that they will be able to
access those programs.
So we're focused on creating jobs, we're focused on helping people in their day-to-day lives and this extra money,
which will be $300 to $1500 per school year, will mean a lot to students.
It will help them in their studies, it will help them build their careers, and I'm focused
on that kind of change in Ontario, so that we put practical initiatives in place that
will help individual students.
We want everyone to have a great job, but we also want them to have access to the studies
in the language that they choose.
Thank you very much those of you who have advocated for this, thank you for that.
And I'm glad that we're able to move forward.
Merci Beaucoup.
