So, to take off the strings, some people take all the time of unwinding the strings all
the way down, all the way down. And it's still not ready. And I was just twisting. I had
to twist that thing like probably five rotations there, and it's still not all the way off.
Now, that could be a problem of whoever strung this guitar, because really we shouldn't be
stringing it that many times. We want to use the least excess of string when we're going
to tune a guitar. However, when we're taking the strings off our guitar, I find the easiest,
most efficient way to do it is simply to cut them. The tension of the string is not going
to hurt you. Just keep this hand away. If they do snap back, it won't be a problem.
And I just cut them, one by one. It seems a little heathen of me, a little barbaric,
but believe me, it's the quickest way to get a dirty job done. A job that no one likes
to do, but we've got to do it.
