>>> Joan Shulmistras: The symptoms to look out for in the possibility of infection for
lymphedema patients are the following. There are several of them so I’d like to just
refer to this note.
When you look for any rash or red blotches, itching, blistering developing on the skin,
any increase in temperature of the skin, any increased swelling of the area, if the limb
is feeling heavy, if you are having pain radiating down into the axilla of the arm, and obviously
if you are having any sense of malaise, chills, fever, nausea, vomiting, what you want to
do is contact your doctor immediately, and if the doctor is not available, get to an
urgent care or emergency room for treatment.
