South by South West, we are having an amazing time at the W Hotel. We're up on the Terrace
with Red Touch Media, interviewing all the best bands of South by South West including
my good friends here, they are The Feud! Thanks for joining us.
Thank you for having us! So where you guys from first of all?
Manchester in England, beautiful Manchester! I'm jealous, I'm jealous... so is this number
one South by South West? It is, first one this year and we've just
done two shows over last two days, it's been great, been really good.
So for people who don't know, for people who are just learning, for those who don't know
The Feud, tell us about your sound. Yeah, I mean we're kind of like electro rock
to put into really simple terms but we have a lot of influences ranging all across the
board from really melodic slow stuff to really heavy stuff but yeah I'd pretty much say electro
rock with a Manchester twang. I love it, I love it so it is that kind of,
I don't want to say that EDM influence but you do have some synthetic elements to what
you're doing right? Yeah we do. It's kind of like if you take
Rage Against The Machine and put the Prodigy underneath them, that's kind of what we are.
I love it! I'm a fan already! So where can we get your stuff?
We have singles out on I-Tunes at the moment and we're working on our debut album currently
here in America so that will be due later in the year so it's exciting!
Fantastic! That's great. So the experience has been good yeah?
Hell yeah, amazing! First time in Austin. The whole atmosphere at South by South West
is unbelievable you know. Music everywhere, literally on the street, every single bar,
you know, here some roof top, I don't even know how we got here but it's just awesome
you know! It's overwhelming isn't it?
Yeah, it's really cool. So what's been the highlight of your trip
here outside of playing shows? For me, going to the Dave Grohl's seminar,
lecture kind of thing. That and one with Corey Taylor was actually really interesting as
well. From Slipknot. Would you guys agree?
Certainly, I think both of those guys, especially Dave Grohl of course is an inspirational human
being and he's been there, done that and got a million t-shirts so it's good to hear from
his mouth what he's got to say. It was so good!
Were you able to learn a lot from Dave? Yeah definitely because everyone's got a different
situation but you see what he's been through and it definitely inspires you to think about
how you're going to approach yourself for the future you know so it's good, it's good!
Absolutely! The Feud, here at South by South West. Best of luck to you guys!
