On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Evan Griffiths and I'm Rebecca Shulman. We're at
Dance Manhattan in New York City and we're going to teach you a little something about
the Argentine Tango. An ancient step in social dancing that's used a lot in the tango is
the grapevine pattern, and it looks something like this. We can dance a grapevine both of
dancing the steps of grapevine together, so either side, I cross in back, he crosses in
front, go side again, and then we cross the other way. In the tango, in the modern day
tango, you use this grapevine in a circle. When we do it in a circle, only the follower
dances the steps of the grapevine. These are the same steps that we just danced in straight
line, but now they wind around the leader like I'm orbiting. I’m going to the side,
crossing in front, over the side, cross behind, open side, cross in front. Wherever until
he tells me to go the other direction or something else. The other direction looks like this.
It's same steps turned around clockwise. I'm going front, open side, cross back, open side,
and so on.
