[Intro Music Playing]
Do you have a favorite color?
Maybe it's Red...or Green...or Yellow.
Or perhaps even Pink.
You can tell by what I'm wearing that I love bright colors.
And I even like dark colors as long as they are bold...and vivid.
I have learned that the more my hair turns gray...
the more I must have colors around me.
Now my friends hear me say from time to time...
that there is not a Beige bone in my body.
And I can add to that...that also there is no Tan...
Ecru...Taupe...Eggshell...Sand...
No shade of Beige in my bones.
Now a few years ago, we renovated the old home place...
and we had the joy of painting our house.
Each time the painters opened a can of paint...they would call me with...
"Mrs. Solomon, you better come up here! I'm not sure this is the right color."
So I would dash up to check the color and of course the color was right.
I did not understand the painters' concerns...
because I see nothing wrong with painting your walls...
a Neon Lime Green...or Red or Purple or Fuchsia or Dark Green or Gold.
Can you say Rainbow! [smiling]
I love the warmth of colors...and the glow that vivid colors...
cast across the room...by lamplight and sunlight.
Listen to these words...from Solomon out of Ecclesiastes 9.
Listen to his wisdom.
Solomon writes, "Seize life...eat bread with gusto..."
"Drink wine with a robust heart."
"Oh yes, God takes pleasure...in your pleasure."
"Dress festively every morning..."
Don't skimp on colors and scarves..."
"Relish life with the spouse you love...each and every day of your precarious life."
"Each day is God's gift..."
"It's all you get in exchange for the hard work...of staying alive."
"Make the most of each one..."
"Whatever turns up, grab it and do it, and heartily."
Now little did we know four years ago...
that about a year later, we would have to do the same thing all over again.
The state bought our property to widen a highway...
so we got to paint another house...
and this time in addition to my usual bold colors...
I painted one room a color I've always wanted to use...
Can you say Black! [smiling]
Look around you...look around your house, maybe even look in the mirror.
Do you think you are a boring person?
Do you think your life is boring?
I urge you to add a little color to your life...
and you just might want to start with your walls.
After all it's just paint and if you hate it...[music playing]
you can paint it again! [music playing]
This is Rachel Solomon sending you blessings...from Gray Hair Talking.
