Welcome to Saving and Publishing Folios in Taskstream. This video will cover how to share
your folio after you've added content to it. Publishing an online portfolio that displays
your academic and professional achievements can be useful when applying for internships,
grad school or jobs.
The first option for sharing your folio is to download it. This option is good if you
want to save a snapshot in time of your current folio.
Log in to Taskstream and open the folio you wish to download. If you are downloading a
DRF, click the Options tab in the top right corner. If you are downloading a showcase
folio, click the Publish/Share tab in the top right corner. You can click Change Visual
Style on the left to modify the theme of your folio.
Once you have selected a theme, click Create a Printable PDF. Notice that you can choose
what components of your folio are included in the PDF. Select which attachments you would
like to download into an appendix. Not all file types will be compatible for a PDF, such
as video and audio files. Click Continue on the right. Click Generate Now. You may receive
a dialogue box confirming that you are about to create a PDF. Click OK.
When the PDF is created, it will open in your browser or begin to download. If it opens
in the browser, click the Save button to download it. You will need to go back to the previous
page where you clicked "Generate Now" to download your attachments individually. Now that your
folio is saved to your computer, you can print it out or email it to anyone you'd like.
The second option for sharing your folio is to publish it to the web. This option is good
if you want to share your folio with others online and have it automatically update as
you make changes in the future. Go back to the Options tab or Publish/Share tab, depending
on the type of folio you're in, and click Publish under "Publish to the web." Here,
you can customize the URL to your folio and password protect it, if you so choose. Click
Publish. Copy the link and paste it into your resume or send it to anyone you'd like. Go
back to the Options tab or Publish/Share tab. Notice the options have updated and now you
can unpublish, edit, or email the link to your folio.
If you are working in a DRF, you may copy your content into a showcase portfolio and
publish it, which will give you more freedom in structuring your content. Click Copy Program
Work to Folio on the right. Note that any future changes made within your DRF will not
be reflected in the new showcase folio, as they are separate entities.
If you have questions about keeping your folios after graduation, check out the video "Your
Taskstream Folio after Graduation."
