Oh my goodness, it's not even focused on the right thing.
[Opening theme music] Oh, you caught me eating again. Hello there.
We just got back from Mitsuwa, and we have goodies we're going to try.
I got some cabbage kimchi from Mitsuwa. I've never had kimchi before.
I like it. It's very spicy, but I like spicy so that's
good. And we're back!
I'm back. Just to put a cap on the kimchi.
I don't know what I think of it. It was good, and I ate it, and I'll finish it off, but
it was weird. Well now we're going to be trying more stuff
we've never tried before. But first we're going to try Ramune.
Ramune. Ramune.
Which is supposed to be really, really good. It's a carbonated, Ramune drink.
Mine is artificial lychee flavor. And mine is artificial grape flavor.
So, one, remove the seal from the top. Did that.
Two, detach the plunger from the center of the cap.
Three, place the plunger on top of the bottle. Press down firmly with the base of your palm
to release the marble. I'm taking this out.
Oh I figured it out! Itadakimasu.
This is like grape soda, but this is better than grape soda.
I don't know what lychee tastes like, so I have no point of reference for it, but this
tastes rather like the hair products that I buy smell.
But I really like it, it's very refreshing. It tastes like a strawberry and orange skittle
that has been soaking in water. This, surprisingly, says it's carbonated,
but this to me, is very light carbonation. But you know, this is more refreshing than
soda. We already know what the bread tastes like,
so we should use that as a chaser in case any of this is bad.
I kind of want to try these little candies. These are just little gummy candies we have.
I'll try the lychee. I'll try the lychee too.
This is very strong. It has a very strong scent.
It smells like strawberry to me! I'm not a huge fan of gummy candy, so this
should be interesting. This is very different from that.
Uh never mind. I was going to say it had a really weak taste.
It hit me. It hit me right afterwards.
We should try the apple, because this one is pink.
Most apple flavored things are green. Can you see it?
Can you see it? That's good stuff.
This tastes just like the apple Hi-Chew. OK, I want to save Muscat for last.
We have this Let's try strawberry.
This smells like a gummy vitamin. This one is chewier than the other ones.
And it tastes a lot more like a fruit-roll-up. I almost don't like this one.
It almost tastes like an actual strawberry, and not what we have created as artificial
"strawberry" flavors. Grape, mango, then muscat.
Look! I love the smell of grape things.
It tastes like a grape Otterpop. I don't like grape.
I'm not sure I'm a fan of this and I love grape things.
It tastes like grape medicine. I really wanna try Muscat, because you can't
go wrong with mango and if Muscat is really bad...
Muscat appears to be some kind of grape. It's green and it has glitter in it.
Can you see it? Can you see it?
Tart. This has a really raunchy smell.
It smells like ragweed. What!?
Oh gosh... No...
It just gets worse! It's really tart.
But like... It tastes grassy.
It tastes grassy. Oh that was bad.
OK, last one, mango. Can you see it?
Can you see it? This smells like something vitamin-y.
I'm not sure if that was a good idea. We're gonna try some of these little things.
There was an assorted bunch of random sweets. And we actually have no idea what they are.
All I know is this says something with green tea.
Ooo, that smells so good! Oh yes!
It's a green tea fig Newton. Yes!
It's delightful. This says "soba" on it.
So it's another fig Newton looking thing, but it says "soba" on it.
[Chewing] I dunno... it's so chalky.
This tastes like a less interesting version of the red bean mochi we tried before.
It leaves such a dry taste in your mouth. Alright.
This looks good. This has "yama" in it, which is "mountain."
You can have it. I don't like this one at all.
Umm... I'm sorry, Japan.
Sorry, I can't do this one either. Let's try this one.
This has something on it that I can't read. So this one looks like a little éclair thing
or something. My grandma had cookies that looked like these.
Darn it! It totally fell apart!
It tastes like the soba one. There's like a vanilla-y quality to this I
think. I feel like my mouth is stuck together now.
I feel like I ate glue. It's not bad.
It's not bad, but my teeth are stuck together. This was like a cookie, and this is like something
you would have with warm tea and it would be very lovely.
My tongue is stuck to the bottom of my mouth. Last one.
Can you see it? This looks really good though.
It tastes fishy to me. I'm not a fan.
Sorry Japan. So we have two different kinds of Pockey.
Almond coated Pockey which we've never had before, which I can only imagine will be delicious.
This is everything I wanted it to be. And this one is one I'm really excited about.
This is cookies and cream. Panda Pockey!
It's got a panda on it! It's called Panda Pockey.
Ah yes! These little goodies that are left in the
middle came from a friend of a friend who lives in Japan and came to visit and she dropped
off these goodies to everybody that she got to meet when she was over here, and I was
one of those people. So there's this, and my friend had no idea
what they were, she just said: "My friend left these treats, but I don't
know what they are." And I can't read the packaging.
This has some kind of sesame seed coated around it.
This smells like a pretzel. This definitely tastes like a pretzel!
There's something in the middle too. It's like... trail mix.
It's good. It totally has a peanut in the middle.
This one I'm pretty sure had a green tea symbol on the front, and so I picked it because it
seemed safe, but who knows. Oh it is green tea!!!
Some kind of flavorless nut is in the middle. It's a peanut baked into a wafer coated in
green tea. How can you go wrong with that?
I made two good decisions with the goodies. Thank you for watching Jeremy and Jacob try
Japanese goodies. Thank you all so much for watching we'll see
you next time. Peace out.
Itadakimasu.
