>>TRISTA: Hi! My name is Trista and I'm with the Bitterroot Public Library.
And in this video I'm going to go over how to download ebooks from MontanaLibrary2Go
to your Kindle App.
So, um... Some people have a Kindle, an actual device.
But, if you don't have a Kindle, you can still read Kindle books on their App, which you
can download from an App store.
And, I'm going to kind of just go over using my iPhone, how you would set up the Kindle
App.
So, the first thing you would do, is go to the App store, search for Kindle, and, uh,
this is what the App looks like.
And, just click on "Install."
And, uh, then you will see the icon on your screen where it has downloaded.
And you can go ahead and click on that and it will open up and ask you sign into your
Kindle account.
So this is going to be your Amazon accounta and password.
Um, this isn't related to MontanaLibrary2Go, this is just, uh, through Amazon.
So, you would want to put in the email address you used for Amazon and the password.
Then, click on "Register this Kindle."
And it has two basic screens. There's the cloud screen where you have any books that
you have in the Kindle Cloud and the device screen where you have any books that are downloaded
onto this device.
And, um, you can, I believe you can go to the cloud to download things to the device...
Um... The first thing on here is just a "Welcome to Kindle" instructional booklet.
So we don't have anything on here now, but we are synced up to our Amazon account.
So, now we should be able to manage this "Kindle" from our Amazon page.
So I'm going to go ahead and exit out of this.
And now I'm going to go into my web browser. And, I am going to go to montanalibrary2go.org.
And this is the homepage for MontanaLibrary2Go. There's different categories and this and
that...
And I went over actually how to search for different things in the regular Kindle video
so it should be pretty clear if you watched that one.
If not, um, maybe take a look at that and it will go over some searching strategies
and things like that.
So, I'm going to get logged into my MontanaLibrary2Go account and I'm going to go ahead and go to
"Advanced search."
And... Look for Kindle books, only titles with copies available and I'm going to search.
And I'm going to go ahead an select "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." It's the same book
I picked for our Kindle library, but I'm going to go through the steps again.
So, again, um, I set the default for 7 days in the other Kindle video but you can change
that just by clicking here.
I'm going to click on "Borrow."
And then I'm going to click on "Download" and it's going to ask me what format.
I'm going to go ahead and click on "Kindle," say "Confirm and Download."
It's going to open up into Amazon.com. I am logged in, so you can see the green box over
here where "Get library book" already has, um, my devices in this drop-down.
So, there's the Bitterroot Kindle, and then Bitterroot's iPhone is where I have my App.
So, that's, um... I just loaded the App onto my iPhone so I'm going to select "Bitterroot's
iPhone" and I'm going to select "Get library book."
And, it says, "Thanks!"
Uh, the next time your iPhone syncs, it will, um, load this book there.
And that's how you get a MontanaLibrary2go ebook onto a Kindle App.
