Here is a broadcast by Esther Simbi
who speaks for Dignity for Disability
for the 2014 South Australian Election.
I'm Esther Simbi,
and I am asking for your vote in the Upper House.
Dignity for Disability wants people with a disability
to be seen as people with ability,
it's important to understand that disability is not inability.
It's time for a fresh start for South Australia,
and a fresh start includes a secure future
for people with a disability
just as much as for any other South Australian.
We need innovative solutions
to ensure that South Australia's economic future
is built on ethical decision making
and it's important that our decisions
are inclusive and fair,
it's what we call "just economics"
because without this fairness there is no equality,
and without equality our community becomes unjust and unethical.
In the northern suburbs of Adelaide,
it's a crying shame that youth unemployment is around 40%.
Clearly, we need to get people working,
and that means everybody!
Dignity for Disability propose a society that cares,
giving equal education and employment opportunity to everybody,
and alongside Kelly Vincent, we are committed to a fairer future.
Authorised by Rick Neagle for Dignity for Disability, Adelaide.
Spoken by Esther Simbi and Garry Connor.
