Hello again everyone and, yes, I am back in the Videojug kitchen for another series of
Keep Calm and Bake. I am Caroline Mili Artiss and today I am going to teach you how to make
whoopie pies. Whoopie! [music]
These are quite easy to make and for those that have not had a whoopie pie before I would
say this is a cross, it is a bit of a hybrid between a cake and a cookie, so that is why
we say whoopie. Anyway, first up we have got 125 grams of soft, unsalted butter going into
a mixer. We are going to beat that together with 200 grams of soft brown sugar. So you
want to beat these until they are nice and fluffy.
Fabulous, that is done. Now we are going to add the eggs one at a time.
Egg number two.
With the mixer on slow I am going to add in my milk, and get yourself some really nice
vanilla because it does make a difference. Just pour that in. We are just going to add
the rest of the ingredients. All the milk, cocoa flour, vanilla can really go in all
at the same time but we are going to do it like this. So flour next, cocoa powder, I
am sieving them, and if you are scribbling down all of the ingredients do not worry,
we have them all in the description box for you. So I am just sieving this in and we are
going to fold it all together. Okay, done. I am going to put this back on slow just to
blend together. I am just going to do this slowly, you do not need to beat it a lot,
just do it slowly, it is all going to come together. So this is all mixed together, we
can bake these. I am just going to put some blobs onto a baking tray which I have got
some grease-proof paper on and you just want to, like, about a tablespoon amount. So make
a little blob, there we go. So make there is enough room in-between each one and then
keep going until all your mixture is used up. I am going to pop these straight into
my preheated oven. It is at 190 degrees C. I put the other conversions in the description
box for you and then only take about 8-10 minutes. Alright, these are ready. I am just
going to transfer them onto a wire rack to cool down. Can you see them, just like puffed
up, perfect? We would love to see your creations if you do actually make these. So take a photo,
send it to us, and remember to do hash tag keepcalmandbake. I am going to leave those
to cool down and get on and make the filling. So I have got some soft, unsalted butter,
which is about 100 grams. I am going to sieve the icing sugar in and I am going to start
with half, I am going to beat this together and then add the other half. Look at this
cloud, woo. So I am just going to get this going, beat these together. Now I can add
the rest of the ingredients, the rest of the ice and sugar, and sieve it. Vanilla extract,
spoon, oh lovely, this stuff is really, really tasty. Okay, and now for the pièce de résistance,
the marshmallow fluff. So again, it is about 100 grams so that is about half of this tub,
very sticky. Mix these together slowly. This is done. Look at that. We have a lovely, soft,
marshmallow-y, vanilla-y filling and this is just going to go straight into the whoopie
pie sandwich. So I am going to put a spoonful on, like so. There, decent amount. Then what
we do now is we get the other half and we sandwich together. So make sure you hit subscribe
if you like this recipe. Carry on filling up the rest of your whoopies. I now must have
a try. Mm-hmm, I will see you again next time on Keep Calm and Bake.
