How to Send a Money Order. Whether you need to send cash within the United States or internationally,
a money order allows you to send funds safely and securely. You will need Cash, debit card,
or traveler's checks Name and address of recipient and stamped envelope. Step 1. Determine the
exact amount of money you will need to send. Step 2. Visit your local post office or go
online to USPS.com to learn what the fee for the money order will be. Know that fees are
charged per money order. Be prepared if you are purchasing more than one. Step 3. Add
the money order fee cost to the total amount of money you want to send for your total money
order cost. Have this amount in cash, on a debit card, or in traveler's checks. Step
4. Get the full name and mailing address of the person who will be receiving your money
order. Be sure your international recipient lives in one of the 30 countries that accepts
American postal money orders. Step 5. Complete the money order form, including your name
and address as well as the name and address of the recipient. Step 6. Pay for the money
order, and place it in a stamped envelope. Mail it to the recipient, knowing that the
