I really enjoy working as a carer in Germany.
I have established a good relationship with many of the elderly people I work with.
It's nice to be needed, and to see that the elderly are treated well in Germany.
To make sure that it stays that way, we urgently need more carers --
and from abroad, too.
My working hours are great: I work eight hours a day.
In exceptional cases I work overtime,
but can take time off to compensate for that.
I work shifts, so I'm often free during the week.
That's nice because I have time to discover Munich
and play my favourite sport: volleyball.
At work I have made friends with many of my German colleagues.
Working as a carer makes it easy to form friendships.
I started learning German at home in Romania, but I would like to improve it
so that I can communicate with others more easily.
A German colleague and friend helps me do that.
The retirement home offers accommodation for its staff.
It also pays for a German language course
and makes sure we have enough time to attend it.
I have come to Germany because I can earn a good living
and my family have good prospects, too.
I can't wait for my husband and son to move here.
We speak on the phone every day.
As soon as they're here, we want to build up a new life together.
Germany offers plenty of opportunities for that!
