And the last is from Enis who says, "Greetings, Pierre, I hope you're well. I would love
to hear a workforce block of Rush for me and my brother Greg and his wife Deanna
and it would be cool to hear a workforce block anytime you can. P.S.
How is Minerva doing?" Well, interestingly enough, to answer that question uh...
having
the opportunity to stop by "The Campout for Hunger" is our buddy Rich Tornetta let's
roll "Magic Bus" in the background, Steve, here
as 93.3 WMMR welcomes you, sir. How are ya? I'm very well...
surprisingly very well! How you doin'? When I said before the break that uh...
you guys have taken on the yeoman's task, I was not kidding. *laughs* I mean, I had no
idea
we'd, you know, every Monday or, in yesterday's case, Tuesday, we do a
Minerva update
and we tell people how the thing is going.
And it's brutal! *laughs* It's very brutal! This thing was an ultimate piece of sincere crap.
We're happy to do it for you, Pierre. *laughs*
You're a lying like a sack. Well...
that's the salesman in me, I guess. I guess that is. So, um... we've given a lot of
weekly updates but give us an encapsulation
you know in
forty seconds or less of how Minerva
was and where she is now. OK, well, we actually got pretty far uh... in a
few weeks.
Minerva started out with a big wrap on her, a lot of uh... Bondo, rust, mud.
um... Everything was in shambles. Hornets nest, bullet holes, a lot of rat droppings
Bullet holes! Dude! There were three or
four bullet holes in the front. *laughs* That's so awesome. It was a drug running vehicle; I'm
convinced.
So, our guy Pat Beavers, the first thing he did was he
got on the phone and started ordering parts everywhere. He started getting
the
the front nose,
new door skins
and uh... you know, got the engine.
So, it really came down to, once we got all the parts, just to start working as fast as
we could. Get as much on Minerva as we possibly could. And, to be
perfectly honest, we're really far along. The doors, I heard, today are going to
be painted. Wow. In their base color and then cleared and ready for the uh... the
airbrushing, so. Is the engine in? Because I think you put the engine into the
donors vehicle. Yea, into the template vehicle. And now, I just found out,
Minerva is up on a bench
and they got the rear in Minerva, which means the drivetrain. Sounds dirty.
Yea,
the suspension and the drivetrain and the subframe uh... they're
actually sitting in Minerva and they're
doing a little bit of uh... pulling and welding just to make sure everything
lines up
and uh... all the clearances are figured out.
So, which means,
Minerva can be sent - can pretty much be painted after that's done and
that might happen as soon as tomorrow. Really?! Wow. Now, this afternoon you and I
are heading over to
we may have found someone who
might be qualified to do the actual paint job. Yup! It's this guy named Fran Drummond
from Paint Zoo. Ok.
and uh...
I was actually on a TV show with him
uh... back in two thousand five. It was called Car Wars with Funkmaster Flex.
And uh... we customized a Ford Focus. Wow. And we were part of the winning team
and the airbrush work he did on that was just amazing. Wow. And so I
figured I'd get back in touch with him and see if he were still doing it and
he's rockin out.
uh... he does work for The Flyers uh... it's really impressive what he does, so,
I'm gonna take Pierre over there to see his facility today.
uh... Take a look at his work and I think he might be the guy; I really do. Wow,
very cool. Yea. And people can get the whole story of Minerva in video form.
Rich is your video narrator, he's your host from CollisionMax
and they go to...
Oh, www.collisionmax.com *laughs* That was your opportunity for the plug.
But you guys are on facebook and Twitter too so
I'm sure you post the videos there as well. Yes, @CollisionMax. All our facebook posts are up
and uh... you can subscribe to our YouTube channel too because
These videos are going to keep coming out until Minerva's finished, so. That's really
awesome. Yea, subscribe and make sure and stay tuned you'll see all the uh...
updates that we have for ya. The videos are really fun because it's a great opportunity
to follow
you give a little uh...
Prequel, if you will, a set up of what's gonna happen and then what has happened
uh... is filmed in high speed motion. So, you see the various CollisionMax workers...
Right. You know, welding the parts on or, you know, taking all kinds of hideous damage off.
But it's all done in high speed, it's very cool. Yea, it really doesn't do justice,
I don't think, to the guys that we have working on Minerva.
uh... they're really super super guys uh... Like I said yeoman's task. Yea, I'm
impressed with what they've done
and, to that point,
I really haven't had time since I'm filming to really go out and do anything
for Campout.
So, I just made a call and we got a five hundred dollar check uh... waiting for you
guys uh... to donate to The Campout for Hunger. Thank you so much! Yup.
CollisionMax, you guys are great. 11 locations all around and they're just wonderful
people. Family uh... run business and
about as nice a have people as I've ever encountered. So, thank you so much
not only for your donation but for taking on a task that most people
would run screaming from. You're very welcome. The restoration of Minerva. Rich Tornetta
from CollisionMax collision max dot com or, to follow Minerva collision max dot
com slash Minerva. Thank you for being here. You're welcome. Thanks, guys. And
that, to answer that earlier email, is EXACTLY how Minerva is doing. Let's roll a
workforce block of Rush ninety three three WMMR in Philadelphia.
Everything that rocks!
