Hi everyone its Bart Olszewski welcome to Middle Village
Any tour Middle Village has to start
at Juniper Valley Park. This park is an amazing historical
natural and recreational resource and with over 55 acres to see
we're wasting time let's go
Juniper Valley Park gets its name
from Juniper Valley Swamp which covered over 100 acres of Middle Village.
Pullis Farm Cemetery dating back to 1840's
happens to be one very few surviving farm
burial grounds in New York City. An often overlooked aspect
of Juniper Valley Park is the way it positively affects
the real estate prices in the neighborhood.
I'm at 77th place
and this is a typical Middle Village block
with typical Middle Village noises close to the park and typical Middle Village
homes
These happen to be brick townhouses. These homes
sell anywhere between $550,000 too high $600,000. That depends
on their size. There some 18 feet wide properties others will be 20 feet wide
it obviously depends on the condition inside, it also depends on the location
how close are they to Juniper Valley Park. The closer
typically that the higher the price.
So beautiful Middle Village block.

its cemeteries Saint John's and All Faiths

for many regular new yorkers as well as
some quite famous people like Charles Atlas who some say was the inventor
modern bodybuilding. Robert Mapplethorpe
one of my favorite photographers who unfortunately died of aids.
Geraldine Ferraro lived in nearby
Forest Hills gardens and was the first
female vice-presidential candidate from a major party.
Many people who tragically died on September 11 are buried here
in Middle Village alongside some infamous people
like John Gotti and Vito Genovese. In Queens
