I'm Brent Gaskey
I work for Lebanon Fire District. I'm a firefighter and EMT
IncidentView basically is the first computer program that we've used
for mapping. It allows us to
find an address quickly without a lot of searching
and when it comes right down to it that's really what the important thing is.
It used to be that we would take off, out station, and end up
trying to flip open your map book and find exactly what you're looking for
what we'll do now is we'll actually come out, get in the rig,
type in strictly the address, I usually pops up in our field
You highlight it and you're going. You have a map
right in front you, looking at exactly where you're going. Which is a huge help for us.
By using IncidentView its allowed us to
move forward with technology.
It's cheaper for us to use IncidentView and its
also much faster for us to get updates
and allows us to do a lot of other things also, such as preplans.
Kind of made our cab a little bit nicer to work out of cause you have lot less stuff to deal with
With those preplans we
used to have them in a separate book,What we do now is they're directly linked to the building
on Incidentview, so as long as we hit the hyperlink, it brings up our preplan data
By having our countywide pre-plans set up on a map
if we, say go to all Albany, our neighboring Department, we can now pull up with their preplans
so if we're going to a big incident we could have that information in front of us before we
ever leave the station
and be looking at that long before we ever get on scene
and have to have somebody hand us a paper preplan of what we're dealing with. It allows us to kind of
do our job and use our time more wisely
