Hello, my name's Matt Jackson and I'm the Head of the Workers' Compensation
Department here the Joye Law Firm.
As you can imagine, a lot of the cases that I deal with
stem from work accidents that happen on construction sites.
Many of those are falls from a ladder or from a height.
What I can tell you, in my experience, is if you've fallen from a ladder,
many times, there are multiple injuries you're dealing with.
Perhaps you got hung in the ladder and one of your legs is injured badly,
but you also may have done some damage to your back or your neck during the
fall.
When you get treatment for a fall like that, its typically done
- hopefully, you've been taken somewhere by an ambulance - and the focus in an emergency
room is going to be on the main injury.
What's very important is that the other injuries get identified,
documented and treated... and that can be very difficult in the workers'
compensation system
if you don't have an attorney helping you out.
There can be a tendency to focus on the main injury.
What I would tell you would be in your best interest if you've had an
accident like this is that they can be devastating,
they can be very drawn out in terms of medical treatment you need, and
its in your best interest to have a qualified lawyer help you out make sure
that
even the minor injuries that stem from your fall
are documented treated and you're properly compensated
at the end of your case. If you've had one these accidents and you're watching this
video, I hope you'll give us a chance to talk to you. It costs nothing to talk to one of
our lawyers. Please give us a call, I look forward to hearing from you soon.
