Welcome to SWING PDF Converter for Lotus Notes.
In this example we'll see how to export several Notes databases to PDF format
automatically.
In order to set up the database export an archiving job was created in the
SWING PDF Converter database
installed on a server. The archiving job consists of several simple settings
including the Source, Output, Conversion and Schedule settings.
On the Source tap we selected the databases that are to be exported
and the All Documents view in order to export all documents
found in the databases. On the Output tab we selected a folder on the server
where the PDF files will be saved and we also set up a simple naming rule
for the PDF files. On the Conversion tab we selected the preferred PDF creation
settings for the archiving job
and set up the metadata export options. Finally,
on the Schedule tab we opted to run the archiving job manually.
Once the settings have been saved, we start the archiving job by clicking
Run Job Now.
When the archiving job is completed, the five exported databases will appear in
the destination folder specified earlier.
In this instance we have also created sidecar XML files for each PDF file.
The XML files contain the exported Notes document properties
and also custom metadata, and these can be used later to automatically process
and categorize the PDF files.
SWING PDF Converter also provides additional advanced features
such as programmatic selection of documents to be exported,
dynamic creation of destination folders, running post processing tasks on Notes
documents or the PDF files,
viewing the conversion and error logs, and others.
