Hi everyone! I'm Jackie, aka lilpumpkinpie05.
Today I'm going to be discussing "Beauty Do's, Don'ts, & Duhs" but for women of color.
Not to be excluded but indian women. Those that have olive complexions.
Latino women. All the way down to, of course, my chocolate
divas. So please stay tuned if you want to hear those
tips. And also, I'm going to be having a giveaway
so if you want more info, keep watching! Tip #1
First of all, don't let anyone tell you that because you have dark skin you can't rock
those beautiful, bold colors. Personally, I believe because of the fact
that you do have a little bit of color already in your complexion,
it just shows up so much more beautifully and it really compliments you so much more.
So don't be afraid to rock those beautiful colors.
Clearly I'm not afraid of wearing color. See?
Check that out. Oh, look at that.
Bam, you see that. Girl.
Tip #2 Girl, has this ever happened to you?
Don't worry! Don't panic!
I got you. This is how you fix it.
So obviously, when you're shade matching, you want to get the closest match as possible.
Always go a little bit warmer or richer because if you don't, and you go a little bit lighter,
and you take a photograph, you're going to get that white-cast and you
don't want that. Just tryin' to help.
Don't say I didn't warn you. Tip #3
So when it comes to eyeshadows, obviously I believe EVERYTHING looks fabulous on us.
But when it comes to your icy, metallic colors, use them sparingly.
And when I say sparingly, I mean on the inner corners of the eye.
You want to stay away from it all over the lid, simply because it tends to wash us out,
and tends to look a little grey. Stick to warmer, richer colors.
They look so much prettier on our complexions. All those beautiful rich colors.
Icies, tread lightly. Glitters being the exception to this rule
simply because they're so chunky, and they just kind of sit on the lids, and they look
true to color. You can definitely go to town with glitter.
Tip #4 So does the idea of wearing blush sound a
little intimidating for you? One of my favorite ways to transition to wearing
blush, if you are really shying away from it is to wear orange or coral.
I know it sounds scary, but it's not nearly as scary as you think.
It just helps to accentuate and it looks so, so natural up against the skintone.
And I actually brought two that I wanted to show you.
Even though they're so completely different, I'm going to show you the different instances
of where you would wear them both. This one is from MAC. It's called "Devil".
And this is more of your daytime; you're going to the beach; you're going out with your girlfriends.
And then we have it's cousin. This one is "Spice" and this is from Bobbi Brown.
So as you can see, this one's a little deeper. A little more "terra cotta".
A little bit warmer, richer. This is something that I would wear on a date
night. So this is Devil, and just see how natural
it looks. You can see it because I really packed it
on but definitely just a soft wash of color. And this is Spice.
It still looks just as good, even on my skin tone.
Still both corals, but just both sides of the spectrum.
Tip #5 Okay, what do you see?
What's wrong with this picture? Tyrone Biggums?
Date night? You see it now?
You see it? Nude lips? Okay, women of color can definitely rock them
but you just have to tweak them a little bit. So male sure you wear some type of lip liner
to help soften it, or else you're just going to get that weird contrast look.
And it's just not going to look natural. This is where I did the liner.
See how much more natural, and softer? It just kind of blends in a lot better.
There's no huge contrast. There's no huge difference.
All right, everybody! That was my rendition of "Beauty Do's, Don'ts
