>> FILIPOWICZ WELCOME TO THE CORPS REPORT,

>>Tucker AND I'M LANCE CORPORAL JOHN TUCKER.

>> FILIPOWICZ WE KNOW YOU'LL HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS.
WE'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED AS WE GET MORE INFO.
>>Tucker THIS EPISODE'S FEATURED MARINE IS A PILOT,
COMEDIAN, AND A RETIRED LIEUTENANT COLONEL.
THAT'S RIGHT, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT ROB RIGGLE.
WHEN HE'S NOT CRACKING JOKES AT THE CATALINA WINE MIXER,
HE'S OUT SUPPORTING HIS FELLOW MARINES.
>> FILIPOWICZ I SAT DOWN WITH MR. RIGGLE TO SEE HOW THE
MARINE CORPS PLAYS A PART IN HIS DAILY LIFE.
>>Riggle When you're a Marine, you think you can do
anything, and generally you can. And, that's a good thing. So, I took that attitude over
to the acting and comedy career. That is a brutal career. They tell you flat-out 'you're
no good, it aint gonna happen.' And, you get rejection after rejection. It takes a thick
skin, and it take a lot of fortitude, which Marines have in abundance.
>>Filapowicz So, you're in the area to visit with wounded
warriors. Now, our last episode's featured Marine was also a wounded warrior, Alex. Now,
can you tell me a little bit exactly why you came down to Bethesda, MD to visit with these
wounded warriors in Bethesda, MD.
>>Riggle Well, they're heroes. You know, these guys
put it all on the line, and they suffered. They lost limbs, suffered burns, brain traumas...you
know. These are the real heroes that are out there, and have really paid a price for our
freedom and our way of life. And, they are our fellow Marines and fellow Soldiers and
I want to be with them. I want to spend time with them. I want to hear what they have to
say, and hopefully encourage them and cheer them up. And, just let them know that I care
about them. There's an old phrase or catch phrase from the Art of War where he talks
about, the only thing a warrior has to guard against is that his spirit isn't broken. And,
when I see these double amputees and these wounded warriors, it's nice to know that their
spirit isn't broken.
>>Filipowicz Thank you so much, sir, for sitting down with
us, and Semper Fidellis
>>Riggle Semper Fi
