Hello everyone! Don't you want to change the way trailers
are made? Trailers more original, innovative and truer to the film.
We have noticed how « The Lone Ranger »'s marketing campaign could have been responsible
for its failure... As you may known, the production of the 2013's Disney live-action summer tentpole
had huge production problems, mostly because of its below-the-line budget.
Eventually, it came to be a financial disaster.
Why? Not because marketing campaign effort wasn't enough. Because it was inappropriate.
Verbinski's film is fun and aimed to be a buddy movie.
Yeah, like in the eighties!
Unfortunately, the film was sold though a generic, soulless trailer that could have
described any movie out there at the time.
A year later, let's see what have been wrong with trailers:
- the target: why trailers were not family friendly with kids references? It's a Disney film!
- characters: a whole new story has to introduce new characters well.
According to critics, it was one of the movie's strength:
Why Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer chemistry hasn't been shown in trailers?
- humor: Gore Verbinski's « Pirates of the Carribbean » films were the perfect mix between
fantasy, adventure and humor. Why « Lone Ranger » wasn't sold like this? Bring the fun!
Now we have the chance to edit a trailer that can be different.
Let's give a shot!
