Add course specific questions to the Introduction to teachers form.
Questions in the Introduction to teachers form consist of
general questions and course specific questions.
the general questions at the same every course and
automatically inserted. The course questions are manually inserted
by course managers or head teachers.
Course managers in SAM have access to add
course specific questions. Head teachers have access to every course
in the teaching section.
The page location to add course specific questions
is OLS
Add edit content > Introduction to teachers.
Select a course drop the dropdown menu
and click on GO
The Preview button shows general questions and any
course specific questions.
There are 2 ways to add new questions. First you can select from the
question bank
or second you can enter your own question. Each time someone creates their
own question it is added to the question bank. There's a limited number of questions
you can add
When the limit is reached, you won't see the Add new question area.
You can add questions from the question bank and make changes to suit your course.
The question bank list shows up to 50 questions.
Questions that are used most will appear at the top of the list.
Select a question from the list and click on Add Question.
Once a question is added it becomes a course question
You can make changes such as edit question, add
or delete answer choice.
The changes won't affect the question bank and other courses.
Click on Update to say any changes you make
Question bank can save you time when you want to use the same question
in many courses
If the question bank doesn't contain questions you would like to use,
you can design your own question.
Please note: any questions you create will be added to the question bank
There are three options for answer type
free text, multiple choice
allow one answer or multiple choice allow mulitple answers
To add a free text question, type your question
in the "Enter your own question" box
Then select "free text' from the Answers Type list
finally click on add question
To add multiple choice question type your question, type your question in
the "Enter your own question" box
Then select one of the multiple-choice
options from the answers type list
Click on Add Choice and type in answer choices.
Repeat until all choices are entered.
Click on Add Question
You can change the sequence of questions by clicking on the arrow
up and down icons
There are things you should know when modifying questions
after students have provided answers
First, update the question if it's a minor change, can do this by modifying the
question
or answer text and then clicking on update to save changes
This way, the student existing answers to the question will be retained
Remove and add a new question if
you would like to change the context of the question or change the question
type, for example from free-text multiple-choice
to do this click on the remove to delete the old question
and use the and new question section. When a question is removed
student answers to that question will not be displayed on the students
My Details > Introduction to teachers screen.
