Howdy, I am glad you made it safely through the summer by realizing that you are not super
human. Your safe actions are appreciated.
Find a chair that is comfortable and suits your learning needs.
Well, I will know your names soon but my name is Cureton.
It is excellent that you have decided to complete your science course needed for graduation.
There is a scientist in you. I discovered the scientist in me in middle
school. I was that kid who asked many questions in
class and had a chemistry set in the basement for a laboratory.
I was amazed with chemicals, smoke, and fire. I played /hockey and lacrosse in my early
years. Oh yeah, I was born and raised in Canada eh.
My hobbies are fishing, deep sea fishing that is.
I hunt fish in, and on, the water. I hunt grouper and yellowtail tuna, the big
ones! My Teacher credentials include bachelor
and master degrees in science, 31 years teaching science classes at middle, high school and
college. Ok, let's discuss the class and other things.
First, the Course Description. Health is a semester course that will guide

and knowledge of healthy lifestyle choices. After completion of this course you should
have developed and enhanced the life management skills necessary to make sound decisions and
take positive actions for healthy and effective living.
This course will cover a variety of topics. Making healthy decisions by achieving good
mental and emotional health. Personal care and hygiene as it relates to
human growth and development. Also we will discuss, healthy nutrition, skills

About communicating with me. Email is the best way to reach me.
I have included the email addresses on the class learning management system. Feel free
to Skype contact me as desired. I want you to contact me when needed.
I check email daily and will respond within 48 hours.
I am a night owl so don't be surprised if I respond to your emails in the early morning.
Students are welcome to call [ 111-123-4567 ] my phone or use Skype when needed.
Finally, this course is a blended learning class.
We will offer bi-weekly face-to-face one-hour optional laboratory sessions.
During week one, I would request that you attend a face-to-face introductory session
to review course requirements, the online learning management system, and a review of
your technology needs. We will also make this introductory session
available live via Skype. I would like to review on a one-to-one basis
your current technology system and if possible suggest needed upgrades to hardware or software.
Important to this class is online discussions. Postings to prompts will have two parts.
Initially, you will be required to study the material provided and respond with your thought
on an aspect of the material presented. Next, you will respond to the post of at least
two of your classmates. Discussion postings often serve as key modes
of class participation. As a result, these posts are a great way to
demonstrate you have read and thought critically about course readings.
Carefully read the discussion posting directions. Your own experiences are important and relevant
when you want to express your opinion, so, state your message in your own voice.
Let me know as soon as possible when you are having technical difficulties.
There is support available to you. I hope you are as excited as I am. Thank you
for our time.
