Hello.
Tonight I finished cooking dinner. The dishes are washed.
And my pile of work is done.
Feels good to be done with all that.
Now I can enjoy myself, and spend a little time chatting with you.
And have a sip of my diet coke . . . nibble on some candy.
I saw these a the store today, candy corn...
I was thrilled!
And you know what that means right?
Fall is around the corner.
What?! I know!
Tonight we had our dinner outside, at our picnic table under the tree.
We caught the last of the sunshine for the day, and enjoyed one of the last warm nights of the summer.
It was beautiful.
I looked around the yard and noticed the trees had begun to lose their leaves.
I could see some of the leaves falling through the air.
The grass is becoming carpeted with green, yellow, and brown.
Wow.
I can't believe summer is finished.
Fall is here.
School starts this week.
It's a little hard to believe.
I know many of us moms have the same feelings of pride & excitement mixed with some bitter sweetness when our kids start each school year.
We can see our children getting older, a they become increasingly independent. The start of the school year is a milestone. Wonderful, realy.
And Fall itself is a very special time of the year.
It is a powerful time too.
Very symbolic.
It is an important part of year.
It is a time of letting go.
It is a time of preparation for what is to come.
We have many things we need to let go of.
In our homes: we look around and notice those things
... that no longer serve us.
And we begin that decluttering process.
We focus that journey inward too, and take the time to pay attention to our feelings.
We note our anger, our resentments, any bitterness we may still have.
We acknowledge those feelings, honor them...
and let them pass through us.
And then we let them go.
It's also a great time of the year to reflect on our business.
We consider what has worked for us.
And what has not.
We start to shift our thinking
We start to shift our ways of doing things.
And sometimes that means we look at the people in our lives too.
We notice who we feel solid about.
And those who are good for us.
And then we take note of those who perhaps the time has come
for us to move on. And we let them go, too.
By doing all this, we make room for new things, new feelings, and new ways of thinking.
I encourage all of you to take a similar journey inward.
Reflect .
And identify what you need to let go of.
Thank you.
Goodnight.
