A burglary suspect swallowed a pair of necklaces he stole from a Florida residence hoping they
would remain undetected. And they were, that is until he had to undergo an X-ray before
being booked into county jail.
Suspect Joseph Ramos broke into a Florida Safety Harbor residence on Wednesday morning.
He also stole a vehicle from the garage.
Ramos was arrested later that day after being pulled over by the cops for reckless driving.
The cops discovered he was in a stolen vehicle.
When Ramos was being processed into the Pinellas County lockup, jail personnel looking at an
X-ray spotted a large dark mass near the suspect’s stomach area.
After Ramos admitted to swallowing the two necklaces, cops decided they didn’t want
to wait for nature to take its course and he was transported to a hospital where the
jewelry was surgically removed from his stomach.
The stolen goods were later identified by the victim of the burglary. Ramos was charged
with felony burglary and tampering with physical evidence.”
