I'm going to flip to the Question & Answer session so that you can ask questions either on your mic or you can type it into the chat.
So, does anyone have any questions?
There are many ways that people benefit from Reiki. Most people who come to see me are interested in reducting their stress
and reducing the stress of their family and friends. They like the fact that this healing modality is spiritually focused.
That's what they feel comfortable with, so Reiki can help reduce stress.
I've volunteered at a Cancer Therapy Research Center and given Reiki to cancer patients, given Reiki to hospice patients.
Reiki for me is a way to keep me in focus and to keep that peace.
Well, I was always very spiritually interested, even as a little kid.
I remember getting up on Sunday morning and going into the family room.
We have a door in my dad's house, a door that closes off the bedrooms from the rest of the house.
I closed the door and turned the TV on real low and of course there's nothing on Sunday morning except the climation Davey and
Goliath. My parents had this set of children's Bible books and I would pull them out and read them - a lot.
I am originally from the Texas area and my husband and I had moved to Pennsylvania.
We’d been living in Pennsylvania for a couple of years. I was going to this massage therapist and she knew I was 'open'
and I was interested in cultural things, world cultural, and knew I was interested in the spiritual aspects and personal development.
She asked me if I would be interested in taking a Reiki class from her, so I said, “Sure!”
So I did. I really enjoyed doing it but I had to find people to beg to do Reiki on.
I'd go over to my next-door neighbor's house and I'd do Reiki on her. She had arthritis in her knees.
She received a lot of benefit from getting the Reiki.
That’s a very good question. I think you just have to listen to yourself… listen to what they say, and their actions.
A lot of people have been taught incorrectly but they don't know any better.
A Reiki practitioner's job is not to be a healer per se. Our job is to work on ourselves to read Eckhart Tolle…
and Marianne Williamson and all those inspirational and spiritual authors, the Bible.
Whatever you read to help you connect to that divine source.
We work on ourselves so that we are a clear pipe for Reiki energy.
When we give a session we ask that we are a clear pipe so that our egos are not involved.
We ask that the person we are working on receive awareness and understanding.
Because if they haven't received awareness and understanding, their body is not going to be able to take that energy and heal itself.
A Reiki practitioner is a co-participant in the healing process and it is an honor when someone selects you to be their practitioner
whether it’s one time, or every week, once a month or whatever it is.
It’s an honor because they’re allowing you to connect with them and be a participant in their healing.
There is a difference between healing and curing. Reiki is not a cure but it is a healing art.
Any more questions? Somebody says, "Hold on. We got another question coming, it's brewing!"
You don't have to physically be present for the Reiki energy to work.
As I mentioned before, we use symbols in the Reiki method to help us realign and connect to the God consciousness.
Those symbols are just tools but we practice using them until we no longer need them…
until we've gotten to the point where we just automatically are aligned and we connect.
You can send long-distance Reiki to someone you know, in another state, in another part of the world.
You can send long-distance Reiki to the past and you can send long-distance Reiki to a situation for healing.
You don't ask for a specific thing. Reiki is not a wish tool. And, you don't ask for a specific thing. Reiki is not a wish tool.
Reiki is for…we want the highest for our good to happen.
Before we work on someone we always ask for their permission. You can physically ask for their permission or ...
your higher consciousness can send it out to their higher consciousness and ask for permission.
You can use a picture if you're very good at visualizing, you can just visualize the person.
You can actually put your hands on a pillow and use the pillow as a surrogate and visualize sending Reiki to that individual.
Again, before we begin a session we ground ourselves, we prepare ourselves and we connect ourselves to that higher frequency.
We ask that we remain a clear open channel, and we ask that the other person receive awareness and understanding...
so that the energy can go and heal their body or their situation or whatever it is the best way that it knows how to.
Somebody just asked a question:
Yes, I've had students in a level II class where they bring a picture or they’ve told someone they’re going to do Reiki on them.
Even Patty gave a testimony a couple weeks ago, where she didn't know the exact time that we did Reiki, but when someone called
her up and spoke with her and asked, “Hey, how do you feel?” she said, “Great, ya know, I just feel good! I feel full of peace."
They told her that we were doing Reiki on her at that time, she was like “Wow, I knew that something was must have been going on.”
Someone else just asked a question:
Okay. Part of learning Reiki is integrating Reiki into your everyday life. For example, every time you get into your car...
you send Reiki to your car and you ask for safe travels.
When I was getting my office ready, my wellness center ready and I pulled the floor out and I repainted and everything,
While I was painting I was sending Reiki into the room so that the room would feel safe and sacred and welcoming.
That energy leaves an imprint in that room. You can send Reiki to inanimate objects.
Let's say for example, you're going… you love to go antique shopping and you find something that you want to buy.
As I've mentioned, energy leaves its imprint, so you might purchase it and bring it home.
Then you make sure that it is clear, that it's clear of any other energy.
You can do Reiki on an object as well. You can do Reiki on your food, on your water. It changes the vibration.
So I don't forget, you can also do Reiki on animals and on plants. I have three dogs, two cats and a bird and they all love Reiki!
It’s kind of interesting. Students have shared stories with me, the ones that have pets.
They comment that their pet was friendly but then the minute they had Reiki, their pet just glommed onto them, they were like this...
...following them all over the place - all of the time. I have that same issue actually. My dogs are outside, but if they weren't,
they would all be here in my office. All three dogs lined up in their beds, both cats would be in their beds,
and they would just all be hanging around me.
Here’s a testimonial from someone that their dog is laying under the table (laughing) because he knows I'm there!
As a matter of fact, it's kind of interesting. I have an office cat. I think he's feral and I think he's part of the rescue group where
they catch them, they fix them, and then they release them because he is fixed.
His ear has a little notch on it and he is drawn to my office.
That cat knows the sound of my car, he knows the sound of my husband's car, and every time I drive up he comes running.
Then he comes into the office, looks around, and loves the energy.
Someone just asked:
Yes, Reiki is a form of prayer, prayer is energy. So, yes, Reiki is a form of prayer.
Did I miss any other questions? Someone says:
Both. It really does depend on you as an individual.
During our exercises we teach people to recognize white Reiki light entering into them.
When I myself, when I get Reiki and I experience Reiki, I'm lying on the table (I'm not doing it, I'm being the receiver,) I see colors.
I can see purples and greens and yellows and reds. So the answer is yes. You can both see white light and color.
You can tell… for me it's a little bit harder, long distance wise. I don't even really worry about it because I just figure the universe and
God are going to take care of it. When you're working on someone physically and they're right there, and there's no energy flow,
you can tell that they're blocking it and they don't want to receive it and that's OK, that's their choice.
They make that decision and that's their free will not receive it. You can sense that long distance. For me personally it's a little bit
harder. But like I said, I don't worry about it because I just figure God is basically going to take care of it and the energy is going to go
where it needs to go - if it goes.
They're basically the same thing. There are so many different energy forms, whether you call it Reconnective Healing,
Therapeutic Touch, Quantum Touch, Healing Touch. They all address the energy fields and the chakra centers.
What I liked the most for me personally about Reiki over the other ones, was the fact that it was more spiritually driven, and taught that
a higher power was doing the actual healing, not the practitioner.
Any other questions? Well, someone asks:
This past weekend I just did a health fair and I gave 15 minute sessions. I only do that for health fairs.
Generally when someone makes an appointment and they come to my office, or I do a session long-distance, it'll run an hour
and some people an hour and a half. And even if they only scheduled for an hour, I generally run over at no extra charge
because you want to work on them until the energy is balanced and sometimes you just don't know how long that's going to take.
Somebody just asked a good question:
Well, truthfully, I leave that up to the individual. For many reasons… it could be health reasons, it could be financial reasons.
If they want to come every… once a week, that's great. If you want to come every two weeks, that's fine, three weeks,
every month, that's fine. But you can also muscle test and ask their body how many times they need to come in for a Reiki
session. I generally don't see people more than every 2 to 4 weeks.
Some insurance carriers cover it. I do not accept insurance and part of that is because I really don't want to have to dea
l with the insurance company. If somebody wants to bring me the paper, and we can educate ourselves on what we need to do
to get the insurance company to process it, I'm more than happy to fill out paperwork, have the person pay me, we'll fill out the
paperwork, they submit it to the insurance carrier and get reimbursed. I used to work in hospital collections. I know how difficult it is
to try to get payment and that's not really where I want to spend my time. So I don't personally take insurance up front.
Well, as I mentioned before, your body is smart. It knows what it needs on a subconscious level.
Let's say for example - vitamins. You don't know which one to take or which one would be good for you.
Let's pretend that my phone here is a vitamin bottle.
If you're in the store you pick up the vitamin bottle, you hold it, you bring it close to your body like this, and you're usually standing up.
Of course, you're not going to see me, I'm going to turn sideways. You're usually standing up,
and a YES answer will go forward and a NO answer will go backward.
You can also do muscle testing by, this is YES (demonstration.) and then if it's a question you know isn't true -
your fingers come apart and that will be NO. It could be tapping, where a YES for you, may be your thumb and your finger are
flush against each other, and then for a NO question your finger just kind of slides off.
It really depends on what method you use that's comfortable for you. They want to also ask, how can muscle testing be used every
day? The example was vitamins. Another example is, let's say somebody wants you to participate in an event and you're kind of torn
- you don't know whether you should do it or not. You could do the YES or the NO that way, or you could do your body swaying -
YES, backwards is NO. I've used it that way. There are all kinds of applications where you could use muscle testing.
Let's see, oh, OK yes, somebody says they haven't even seen some of the methods.
Truthfully, there's some pretty interesting videos out there explaining what muscle testing is. I actually use it in another modality
that I do on occasion, called Holistic Energy Activation Realignment Therapy - where we actually are touching our client’s body.
We ask if they have deficiencies in certain things. Do they need vitamin D, CoQ10, or whatever is wrong with them, can it be
helped with essential oils, or if certain modalities would be helpful for them, like chiropractic care, acupuncture,
acupressure, Reiki, reflexology... going to a naturopathic doctor, you name it.
Any other questions?.... It looks like we don't have anymore questions.
so I'm going to wrap this up, and I want to thank each and every one of you that participated, for showing up,
and for those of you who weren't able to be here live, thank you for watching this through one of the links on Patti’s website,
or even on my own at some point. And I have someone who just said she's sure she's going to have more questions later,
and that's great! If you're watching this at a later date you can email me at
spiritualhealthandwellness@gmail.com and I'll do my very best to answer your questions.
Thank you and have a wonderful rest of the day.
