"Life's worthless."
"Unless you aren't with me."
"We've been together for ages."
In the Indian film industry..
..this actress came with a different style of beauty.
She won over everyone's hearts by her simplicity.
She was born on 15th November 1947 in Mumbai.
Name, Vidya Sinha.
"Lift a curtain."
"And I'll drop the veil."
"Come close to me."
"And I'll come closer to you."
Vidya Sinha's father, Rana Pratap Singh, himself was..
..a producer in Indian films.
"These days.."
Vidya Sinha, started as a model and she has been Miss. Bombay.
During her modeling career..
..one of her pictures was printed in a film magazine.
It was noticed by the film maker Basu Chatterjee.
And then, the film 'Rajnigandha' came into her life.
A film which made history.
In it, her co-star was Amol Palekar and Dinesh Thakur.
"Rajnigandha flowers.."
Vidya Sinha never went to an acting school.
Amol Palekar sir too hadn't taken..
..any professional acting training.
But Dinesh Thakur was a big shot in theatre.
And he helped Vidya Sinha a lot.
This film 'Rajnigandha' was so popular..
..that after this, Vidya Sinha..
..got work in a B. R. Chopra film.
'Why did you need to do all this? Didn't you trust me?'
B.R.Chopra Banner..
..was considered amongst the biggest Indian cinema banners.
In the year 1977, Vidya Sinha was working with Rajesh Khanna.
Working with an actor like Rajesh Khanna made her hesitant.
But Kaka-ji took care of this new girl very well.
And after that, she didn't look back.
Her co-stars have been Sanjeev Kumar..
..Shashi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna..
..Uttam Kumar, Vinod Mehra, Shatrughna Sinha..
..and this list is much longer.
'I'm sorry, Shall I make another one?'
'No, let it be. Nothing matters anymore.'
Actually, her film 'Pati, Patni Aur Who' too was very popular.
In it she had played a very strong character.
But her performance in the films, 'Rajnigandha'..
..and 'Choti Si Baat'...
..made her into an immortal heroine.
"My eyes are not a thief.."
A point to be noted is that in the year 1968..
..when she was just 21 years old..
..she was married to Venkateshwaran Iyer.
This was the time when she was not working in films.
But her husband encouraged her..
..and told her that she should surely..
..accept the film 'Rajnigandha'.
'It is going to rain again, tomorrow.'
'Tomorrow, I'll get my own umbrella.'
'Ok, then I won't get mine then.'
For almost 12 years, Vidya Sinha kept working in films.
But as soon as the eighties came.. the middle class roles..
..soon started to disappear. And for the same reason..
..she too started staying away from films.
"Sometimes intoxication or dew."
"Sometimes beautiful or gorgeous."
"Body like poetry."
"Shining like the moonlight."
These were also the years when she..
..was giving much attention to her family.
In the year 1979, her daughter Jhanvi was born.
She spent some years raising her daughter and during that time..
..she got a deep shock.
Her husband, Venkateshwaran Iyer fell sick.
So sick, that in the year 1996, he died.
'No!'
'No!'
Vidya Sinha spent some years alone.
But in 2001, she re-married.
Netaji Bhimrao Salunkhe became her second husband.
But immediately after this wedding, she applied for divorce.
"Life's worthless."
"Without you."
In the ups and downs of her life..
..Vidya Sinha completely forgot acting.
But on her daughter, Jhanvi's cajoling..
..she moved into TV serials.
In the year 2000 she was seen in the serial 'Bahurani'.
And then, in 'Hum Do Hai Na' and 'Kavyanjali'.
Vidya Sinha was also seen in Salman Khan starrer, 'Bodyguard'.
'Stand there itself, outside.'
'Thank you madam'.
Vidya Sinha is one of those actresses..
..who has done a very few films..
..and yet has carved a niche for herself.
And has reached such heights that a very few actresses can.
Vidya Sinha will always be remembered with pride..
..in the history of Indian cinema.
"Take me in your arms."
"Sometimes intoxication or dew."
"Sometimes beautiful or gorgeous."
