This is what I would suggest; the required education for getting into this business.
It's mandatory that you go to college and major in create arts, specializing in film
or video production or even going to film school. Also, take classes and this is very
important; in art composition, creative writing, political science, economics and even geography.
I did not take political science and economic classes. I certainly wish I would have taken
those classes. It is best to start out working in a small local TV station. Learn to shoot
and edit, learn how to tell a visual story, learn how to operate a satellite truck. The
more tools you have the more you'll be able to move up to a top ten market and gain experience.
It is important to win some national awards for your work and list those awards on your
resume when you're starting to move up the ladder. Create a short DVD of your very best
work. This DVD should be no longer than five to seven minutes in length.
