which camera is best is a question I get asked a lot
trust me it's a lot which camera is best well it's,
it's not much which camera is best because there are
so many or some amazing cameras out there on the market
it's a case in which camera is best for you
which camera works for you now before we go to a bit further into this
I just wanna share something I got as a message or an email I can't remember now
how I received this, and if you're the person who wrote what i'm about to read out I apologize
for not noting your name
I don't know how but I've lost it. This is so relevant.
Hey mike I play guitar not well
but I play it because I like the noises I make I also take pictures for the same
reason the difference is
I want to be a better photographer. I had a friend who also wanted to play the guitar
he went out and bought a les paul which cost him 4000 pound to learn on
six months later he sold it for 2200 because he had damaged it by throwing
across the room in frustration one day
when I asked why he said I got sick of getting sore fingers
trying to play the music I wanted to play and failing I spent all that money
on this thing and it was crap.
I told him that art is person, not the tools we use to create it.
I would say it's the same way with photography you have to work to get the
art out and the level of work you do
reflects the standard of art you produce. I know people who have spent a lot of
money on cameras that are gathering dust in cupboards because they gave up.
Finding that huge outlays of cash still produce tat.
The email goes on about some other things but that is so totally totally
relevant and I do hope that you can see that
analogy for yourself, spending a whole pile of money
because a camera has more pixels has more ***-*** do dads on it
is it gonna make you pictures better the pictures come out of you and are
captured by the camera, they're not captured by the camera and given to you
it's the other way around you've got to turn it on your head.
so which camera is best for you? well you need to start asking yourself questions
a bow what you want to do now
I let's say your the average
hobbyist photographer who loves taking pictures you you really good at taking
pictures it doesn't really matter
we do is ask is so cool how much wanna spend
what am I gonna do with the images and I what's my budget as a good place to
start don't go
mortgaging a house in selling your children into slavery just wish for a
better camera you know
I'm we gonna do the pictures
if your pet is gonna live on Flickr or you know
in the computer the lookout on screen and that's about it well
you don't need massive huge gray incredible quality image fault
you can just have pictures from a finding that would do that
and I a data
Chu Trinh online with a guy in america who came to me he
taken quite a shot pictures a bird's he was using
very kinda like entry level DSLR equipment
and I have to confess that in mind arrogant I kinda thought yes camera
shake it something like that
the show me the pictures that breathtaking pitches the breathtaking
pitches
and he is one of those rare cases where he had hit limitations
of his equipment he wanted to be able to get right in and so dirty crops and
things like that which one possibly get the camera necessarily
back close to the person is crop he you couldn't quite get the definition in the
feathers
et cetera in as tight as he wanted to get and that was purely down to the
equipment
his skills were also this guy was even building
he was putting in like tree trunks I out in the woods behind his house
for the birds to come in roost on but he was thinking before putting in these
environments the purse the country was the light gonna rise
was gonna set wasn't gonna go am I gonna set this up so you get the best pitches
before he even built it
that's dedication and commitment on a big scale
and isolate the circus your images were also and apologize
a car for me when I think this would come back for a while now the thing is
if you want to do that type of photography
all sports photography for example low light photography you're you're yearning
in a big stadium
%um but much light you try to capture movement you gonna need very high ISO
performance you need a
much like coming up the lens is possible you need a white actual end then you are
gonna have to spend icebox
the shoe print on Flickr you just wanna take some nice pictures one guy in the
morning at some places the woods the park say that whatever take some pics
the trains and cars in
whatever takes your interest you can get a good image
a pretty much anything the key is to find the camera that works for you now
this is getting harder
as time goes on in earlier films mine I we said
go to shop pick up the camera play with it make sure the knobs and buttons make
sense to you know this is getting harder and harder harder because high street
shops disappearance
all going online but you can still do it
if you remember the camera club have a guy with other peoples cameras remains
in photography play with their camera when you get the opportunity
look at someone else's camera Desai German have to go without the worst
things there is no
you know who it is not is it an
have a look at it try it just kind of and
see if it works for you see if it's something that you like
as for the image quality I think which is the best camera icon onsite question
because it's which is the best camera
for you all cameras a great so
leading on from there I'm often asked why he should no comment
well pretty simple when I first bought myself a professional level camera
onboard NIC on
simply because someone I know had a nickel that was it
I kinda liked it and i'm too lazy to go and do research about the brand will not
take not pitches
buyer an because I've got a nick on
I guess it's cool brand loyalty and stayed with Nick home is not necessary
because I'm in love
with Nick on this because I'm gonna confront his mission Nick on excess a
reasoning on bits and pieces and they will fit Nikon cameras
on really want to dump all handgun by all over again
I'm into taking the pictures not necessarily the vehicle which I use
to achieve them and also
like Nikon cameras themselves they're all different I got my OD 300 which I
love I just think they're splendid cameras they're really really great
but they are slightly older technology now they do need updating have been
hammered so I bought the 600 have a look at and try it out because someone work
so at one
yes pretty cool kinda like that actually not goddesses under I don't like it
there's things about the dishes 100 I don't personally night doesn't mean it's
a bad camera it's in all some camera
it just means that some other controls which are light has buttons on the
outside have been moved
into a menu that means I gotta Press an Info button and go to the menu
to change those settings fun shooting a fast moving environment
I don't want to do that with the D 300 Aiken
just be running across the thing without looking my fingers know where those
buttons are not compress intern and twiddle
on the move I'm not time to stop on interested in stopping
in reading that in the back to the camera also I have to be very dyslexic
in I read horribly slowly
I haven't got time to be pondering where no
yet are pressed the wrong one cocoa packets in he I'm not I'm
and I'm now there are people who got 3600
and they lot 3600 and there's nothing wrong with that it isn't or some camera
own things it doesn't really work me if you wanna those people you love you the
600
comes to bed early in the evening you pop on the pillow and nestle it in
nicely
33 snuggle down with it homes in nice
good for you test just fantastic okay
please please please people stop worrying about which is the best camera
isn't
best camera there's the best camera for a certain type think such as sports
like et cetera if you want to print billboard you doing
massive high resolution files that can be printed huge for an advertising
agency yeah you can have to spend the bucks
attempt to affect you you don't really need to trust me you really time we need
to do is to learn how to use
what you've got photography is the other way around its not term
the camera gives you the picture a and the setting people on the camera create
that picture is the picture actually
tells you what settings to put on your camera new camera will faithfully
record that I promise
