Windows XP offers two different versions of the Start menu. The 'Default Start Menu' & the
'Classic Start Menu'.
To switch between the two Start menu options, right-click the Start button and choose Properties.
The 'Taskbar And Start Menu' properties box appears. Select either Start Menu or Clasic
Start Menu.
While you're in the 'Taskbar And Start Menu' properties box, you might want to make one
other appearance-related change that allows more items to fit on the menu:
If you chose the default Start menu, Click Cutomize and then select Small icons.
If you chose the Classic start menu, click customize, then select 'Show Small Icons in
the Start menu' near the bottom of the options list.
