My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner
and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect
wedding. In our world today there are vegetarians, there are vegans, there are people with all
different kinds of dietary restraints. W have gluten free, and unfortunately we have diabetic.
So at any event today we have to take into account the guests who are coming. These are
your guests. You know what their strengths and weaknesses are. And what their tastes
are. So to the best of your ability, inform the venue where you're having the event that
you'll have some vegetarians, some vegans, some sugar free, some gluten free. In America
today I doubt there is a venue that won't accommodate you as long as you tell them in
advance. so try to look at your guest list. You don't need to know exactly how many, but
certainly know the different types of things that you need so the venue can be prepared
because they want to be prepared. Also remember that there are many people today who are nut
free, and that's a serious issue, so absolutely ask ingredients of certain things if that,
if you have people who are nut free. Because we don't want any epi-pens in the middle of
your wedding.
