Hello everyone! Yesterday, Apple announced their successor to iOS 6 which is iOS 7. Let's
go ahead and take a quick look and see what's new!
Unlocking the phone reveals the same type of layout that we are used to. Where you really
see the changes is when you actually take a second and look at those icons. The whole
OS is redesigned with this new modern, translucent look.
Some of the apps that are my personal favorites include: Compass, which looks a lot more modern
and professional. App Store, which now got rid of that dark theme for a more lighter
experience. And finally, Weather, which in my opinion - looks a lot like the Yahoo! Weather
app.
Spotlight search was also replaced for a more cleaner, easier experience. All you do is
tug down on your screen and search away!
Even Notification Center got an update. It also follows that same translucent look, and
you now have three sections to narrow down your notifications.
Also with folders, you can now have pages which allows you to store hundreds of apps
in one folder.
Siri also got an update with some new voices, and it now change some system settings like
the brightness.
Speaking of system settings, we now have Control Center, which is like a quick toggle. You
can access it in any app or on the lock screen by swiping up from the bottom of your phone.
Here, you can toggle things like WiFi, cellular data, or even change your brightness. We also
have a new addition here, which is AirDrop. AirDrop allows iPhone users to instantly share
photos and video.
Last but certainly not least, we have the long awaited iTunes Radio. It acts like a
Pandora replacement, and actually does so very well. It is free, but ad supported. To
get no ads, you must subscribe to iTunes Match.
Overall, I think iOS 7 gave users what they were waiting for. But remember, this is only
the first beta. Design changes, new feature, and a lot of bug fixes will come in the future.
iOS 7 will be available to the public this Fall and to see if your device is supported,
check the description.
Thanks for watching everyone! Please leave a comment right below that like button with
your take on iOS 7, and I will see you guys in the next video.
