My name's Pauline, I'm 25 years old and I'm in Societe Generale's VIE.
The Volunteer for International Experience programme is a contract that gives young graduates the chance to work
for French companies around the world. I started at Societe Generale as an apprentice during
my masters in HR. I worked on different projects where I had to work with a number of countries. That made me want to go abroad
and develop within the Group.
Today, on the VIE in Geneva for the private bank's HR department,
I'm working on an HR transformation programme.
I've also got other projects such as recruitment and training which mean that I work with a
number of people in the private bank and the investment bank. I wanted to discover new experiences,
so I'm delighted! Here, I'm working with colleagues from 26 different countries.
It's very refreshing to have to adapt to other cultures and mentalities. Teamwork is something
I find with my colleagues but also with the VIE community that's grown here. We've created
real ties and that's important for me. My "me time" is when I'm running. I can escape
and think about my loved ones and my next ports of call. My twin sister's in Montreal at the moment, I could join her there!
Eventually, I'd like to manage a team. This amazing experience has widened my professional horizons and multiplied my options.
So that's me, Pauline. If you're
like me and enjoy a good challenge, why not join the team!
