Well, hello everybody.
My name is Jordan Johnston and I'm a recent graduate of Lasell College.
Today we're going to be making wonderfully delicious Va Va Vegetarian Lentil Burgers.
So the first step of this wonderful mean is we are going to put some lentils,
some salt and some eggs in a food processor and we are going to, look at that egg.
That was a ripe chicken.
We're going to turn it on.
All right.
So now that they're all blended you want to get the eggs, salt and lentils to a consistency
that is like hummus and if there are some full lentils still in there, it's perfectly fine.
So lentils are very good to use for burgers instead of beef chuck
because they're high in iron, potassium and protein.
So now we're going to take a half cup of bread crumbs and if I haven't said
so already the lentils are also very high in dietary fiber and we're going
to take some onions and put it in a mixing bowl and blend it together
with our tiny little mouse hands.
So now we've mixed the bread crumbs and onions in with our lentil mixture.
You're going to want to let it sit for a little bit so that the bread crumbs absorb some
of the egg moisture and you'll form them into patties like this.
Now I'll heat up some extra *** olive oil in a pan and pop the patty on in there.
So you want to cook the patties until they're brown on the top like that and I'm going
to use whole wheat buns because they're better for you
and you can just put them on there like that.
For the topping you can use whatever you want.
I use cheese and later on I'm going to put on some tomato and avocado.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this lesson in lentil burgers.
So until next time keep on cooking.
