We'll start with picking a handle and now we have to correct the angle on the
Alright.
We normally attach the handle to about one inch from the top.
She's scoring and marking
where we are putting the handle. Putting slip.
This is part of a joining process. We have to score and slip.
Put a little bit of pressure on the top and the bottom where you are
attaching.
She's wetting the handle because the handle is a little bit stiffer than it should be.
So by putting just a little bit of water it softens the handle a little.
Just joining the handle.
Notice that she's pushing the handle against the cup and her hand is
supporting underneath
so she does not over push.
Now additional clay will be added
on the top side and the bottom side of the handle just to make sure that
the handle is
glued on properly.
Even on the tail, we need to add extra clay
to make sure that it's properly attached.
And then once it's dry, we will put it in the kiln
for first firing
which it will be about,
we'll fired it for about 15 hours for first firing
because we fire it over night and the second firing will be
18 to 20 hours
because again, we'll fire over night so we'll start the kiln at five O' clock in the afternoon,
finishes the next day about
five to
eight o' clock.
