Everyday Mexicans try to cross the border to the U.S. Some make it to the borders, but
get caught, some make it across, some also die. They leave for one reason, to escape
poverty and to find a new life in America where tempting offers are waiting for those
who are determined enough to take them. They work long hours for low wage, this means that
they are the ideal employee, making them more efficient and cheap than other workers, who
expect a lot more pay for the same jobs. If you were a manager and had to choose between
a hard working, low paid worker who did jobs well and without complaint, or another person,
who expects higher pay, and might even complain how little vacation days they get, or their
salary.
Some other reasons Mexicans might want to leave their country could include the amount
of drug cartels found there, 5% of Mexico's population is malnourished, and 12% of people
in Mexico don't have access to safe drinking water. I think that Mexicans immigrating to
the U.S is a dangerous task. According to NFAP 477 immigrants died in 2012. I personally
think that crossing the border is too dangerous, there is a chance that you might not even
succeed, you can die or be turned back, and even if you do get across, there is still
the chance that you won't be able to find a job. Some pro's for Mexico is that it has
less population and that means that it can take care of itself better, some con's for
it is that there will be less people to do things and if people keep leaving Mexico than
some of the lesser cities might be abandoned altogether. Some pro's for America is that
it has more workers and that they get more money from tax, some con's are that some people
might lose their jobs. I think that there are many reasons to go to America to find
jobs, but I don't think they are worth the risk.
