We customized the dividers instead of the outside of the cookbook so that we could put
family pictures and reunion pictures, family pictures of Ethel and her husband who is no
longer living as babies.
And then this was the - her husband had a clothing store. For Christmas every year they
got Munsingwear pajamas. So that was always a big laugh.
And this was Joe. He used to fish and let the fish die on the stringer so they actually
nailed a fish one time to a board to give to him. So that was our Main Dish Catch of
the Day by Joe.
And then this is Patrick who died. And then that's when we started putting the poems on
the back of those dividers - of his poetry.
And then the rest were just family reunion pictures where we started. The first reunion
was actually in Kearney with very few and the family has grown and so we just ended
up with as many of the grandkids. We couldn't find one picture that had everybody in it
because the family is still growing.
And then Joe was in the Air Force and this was his picture of the day he earned his wings
in the Air Force.
One of the unique features of our church is the stained-glass window series that depicts
the Lord's Prayer. There are five of them that have the wording of the Lord's Prayer
on it. And then the final three are just photographs of biblical themes. This is something that
is very personal. It was planned by the builders of our church and it's very important for
us to have those in our cookbook.
What was wonderful is that the eight windows exactly match the eight divisions that we
had in our cookbook. And so we were able to have pictures taken of those and then use
them as the divider sheets in our cookbooks.
