This tutorial will explain how to do an advanced search in Academic Search Premier.
You're doing a research paper.
There may be a ton of articles on your topic. You can narrow the number of results you get back with the Advanced Search.
For a tutorial on a more basic search, check out the basic search with Academic Search Premier video.
To start, from the library homepage click Academic Search Premier. Click on the Advanced Search link.

AND, Boolean operators let you decide what CAN be in the search, with the word OR!
OR, if that's not enough, Boolean operators let you decide what NOT include in your search, with NOT!
NOT responsible for failed searches. Contact your librarian if you have questions.
Use Boolean operators in your search today!
Let's use a combination of Boolean operators - OR and AND.

Wilcard not responsible for anything going wild.
You can limit your search before you start with the options below, or you can refine the results once you have them.
And, if you search now, you can use quotes around a phrase to only find items with that exact phrase!
Boolean....
It's amazing!
Boolean!
Good grief. We have a lot of results.
Let's limit to a subject term.
Our results are much more narrow and specific, and we've saved some time.
That's the end of the advanced article search in academic search premier. Thanks for watching.
Boolean, can I talk to you for a second?
