Robyn: A typical day at the front counter is counting the money, getting those tills
ready for the day, ensuring we’ve got enough change, and getting registers set up for Corrections
staff, the BDM people and also Sheriffs. It can be quite hectic at the front counter,
we can have up to maybe 70 people through the counter on any one day.
Helen: Our systems consist of BDM, Sheriffs, e-justice, crystal reports, courtlink and
we have all these systems up and running, and we are flipping from one system to another,
we have to take EFTPOS, we take phone payments. I think we really are quite flexible.
Robyn: You can have a sea of people in reception and it’s amazing how quickly you can get
through them. You never know what’s going to happen.
Helen: It’s full on.
Robyn: Today could be a quiet day but tomorrow we could have everything thrown at us. And
you go home exhausted and drained from it, but you come back the next day and you just
think ‘here we go what’s today got for us’ and I love that challenge. I get a lot
of satisfaction knowing that I’ve sent people away hopefully a little bit more satisfied
than what they were when they came in.
Helen: You see someone walking away being happy that you served them, you enjoy that,
and you get a kick out of knowing you’ve delivered good customer service.
