So have you ever wondered on what the pros and cons are of getting your tooth extracted?
Well my name is Michelle and I'm a dental assistant with Solutionz and I'm going to
kind of help you understand better on the pros and the cons of extractions. Basically
the most important probably best part of having an extraction is it's basically it's the easiest
treatment course depending on whatever your general dentist has recommended for you, nine
times out of ten he'll give you different treatment options and one of those options
will probably be just to have the tooth extracted. It's a lot cheaper, more cost effective for
you in treatment, just to have the tooth extracted. So therefore you don't have to worry for any
future problems down the road of trying to restore that tooth. But also in reflection
of that, the cons of it is that if you have a tooth extracted, the teeth next to it are
going to shift and actually drift into place, where you have that gap from the extraction.
Or the above tooth or the lower tooth underneath it depending on what area it is in your mouth,
will actually start to what we call super erupt, it'll actually start to slowly but
surely over a period of time, start to push itself out of the socket. So, these are all
types of issues and forms that you need to be aware of whenever you are considering to
have an extraction done. But mainly consulting with your general dentist, he'll be able to
let you know what is the best treatment option for you, so in return you can make a better
decision. But once again my name is Michelle and I'm a dental assistant with Solutionz
and I just explained to you on the pros and cons of having a tooth extracted.
