When a customer walks in through the doors of Sherwood Kitchens I think they can expect
to find a warm and friendly service, they’re going to be able to see kitchens set out here,
all showing different materials, different layouts, different storage options.
From then, we’re going to be able to show them ideas and work with them to help create
the kitchen of their dreams.
There’s the customer that might come in with an architectural plan and an architect
might have drawn and planned the kitchen out completely; they might have specified the
colours, materials.
There’s some customers who come in and they’ve just got no idea of what they might want but
for most of our customers I guess it’s somewhere in between. They might have some ideas based
on something they’ve done before or some pictures in some magazines and, combined with
our experience and some of our ideas as well, we’ll create the kitchen of their dreams
as well. So there’s three different types of ways of doing it.
Predominantly our business is designed around the quality end of the market. We’re building
kitchens to last and we’re using quality materials and hardware right through the kitchen.
We’ve got a specialist computer drafts person that renders the 3D images and right down
through to the guys that build the kitchen, they’re all qualified joiners so we’re
very much producing an article that we know is going to last the test of time.
I think what Sherwood Kitchens offers is, it’s a little bit unique in the market is
it’s a more personalised touch. Because the customers are dealing with me at the beginning
right through the process to dealing with myself again at the end of the process, the
customers are highly regarded as being the core part of our business.
The other thing is it’s a one stop shop. We obviously specialise in kitchens but are
able to offer specialist joinery units from those custom designed laundry units, vanity
cabinets, any other cabinet that might go in that house can be all designed and built
by our company.
The success stories that we’ve had in the past; it’s probably hard to actually measure
one instance. I guess all are little pieces of the puzzle that have helped make up success.
It’s nice to get some recognition from our peers or nationally through some of the awards
and perhaps some of the features that have been in magazines. That’s been fantastic.
But there’s nothing really better at the end of the day when a kitchen has been completed
and a customer comes in and says how pleased they are. That sort of recognition is really
hard to go past, so that’s fantastic.
