The first, the very first substitution I can recall is that when I was young,
I wanted everything fresh.Oh!
The very first substitution I ever made
was
instead of eating the large, the apples from the large 10 lbs. bag
I would go to the produce section, and hand select the really big beautiful
red delicious apples
when I was like 5 years old something. Yeah!
Because I always wanted something that looked really beautiful and was fresh
and really good quality.
Fresh produce, you know what,
is something as a child I just intuitively was drawn to.
I, the way I see things, the produce just looks more vibrant and radiant.
It has more color and
it just seems to be vibrating more brightly and I just intuitively knew
when I looked at it that I wanted to eat that.
That looked prettier and was more vibrant, as opposed to something that was
dead looking or full.
So, the first substitution is fresh produce vs. frozen or pre-packaged produce.
