Hello and welcome to My Weekly Geekery, the show in which I talk about what's
been going on in my geeky world over the past seven days.
It's mainly Doctor Who this week, again.
I'm sorry. I'm not sorry. In Doctor Who news the BBC has released a new trailer
celebrating 50 years of
the show. The trailer includes no footage from The Day of the Doctor but does include
much wonderfulness
for fans to look at, including all previous incarnations of the Doctor.
I have put a link to the trailer below, and also a link to a list of things
appearing in the trailer if that is of interest to you. In other Doctor Who news it has been
confirmed that the cinema screenings
on the 23rd November in the UK of The Day of the Doctor will be in 3D.
Sky 3D customers will also be able to watch in 3D at home.
Over 200 cinemas in the UK will be screened The Day of the Doctor,
as well as cinemas in many other countries, including Ireland, Germany,
Russia,
the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Also several
new stills have been released for An Adventure in Space and Time.
In children's television news, because although allegedly an adult I still watch
a lot of kids' TV, the nominations for the Children's BAFTAs have been announced,
with several nominations for Wolfblood, Horrible Histories and Horrible Histories:
Gory Games.
Wolfblood, CBBC's supernatural drama, has been renewed
for a third series. There is an excellent article
on Den of Geek about Wolfblood and why it is awesome, because it is awesome.
I have linked to that below if you would like to read it. In other CBBC news, Horrible Histories will
return for a one-off
World War One special. Also, Yonderland, the Horrible Histories
team's new show, will be on Sky later on this year. And finally Homeland
has been
renewed for a 4th season by Showtime. So in conclusion,
we have one month to go, Whovians,
one month, we can do this, we can do this.
This has been My Weekly Geekery.
