Okay, we've talked about still cameras, but what else might you put in your bag?
Well, you may not have any of this stuff, but here's just a few things that
you might think about. Now, first of all, there's a category of tripods.
You're going to want the camera to be still. There's a lot of different shapes and sizes,
but let me tell you about some of my favorites. This is called a Gorillapod.
What I love about this, not only is it small, but the joints are really flexible
and I can make quick adjustments. The second type of thing you want to think
about is audio recording. Wait, audio recording for e-commerce photography?
Well, sure, think about anything that might make noise or might move.
You want to be able to essentially add dimension to that.
Now the iPhone is great now, because it's got an application called Voice Memo.
So you can quickly just record an audio file. Or there is a more professional grade here
that allows you to directly record to an MP3 format.
Now, same thing with video. You don't even think about video, but video
might be used for anything that has a really great motion or that might turn or
you want to show a fitment, let's say, on some clothing on your model.
So, this is a regular consumer HD camera. I also carry an HD Flip camera and the HD
Flip camera is pretty great, no cables necessary, shoots HD format. Sometimes I get
a really great little piece of video directly in my Flip camera.
Now, this little guy here. It's really helpful.
This is a little USB connection and I can take all of my media cards and I can
slip it right into this little guy here. Now, why do I have this?
This is really helpful because I don't have to carry all of the different
cables around with me. I keep that in my pocket and I can shuttle
the media back and forth, super helpful. Now the last thing you see here is a lazy
Susan that's actually got little degree increments on it.
Well, this is helpful when you have a shot that's set up. Let's say you're
going to shoot multiple things in the same angle.
It's really helpful to kind of deconstruct your shots in this way, so that you
can shoot, turn, shoot and turn. This is really helpful.
Now again, you may not have all of the stuff in your bag, but just think about
something based on what you shoot. This would be really helpful addition to your
e-commerce photography.
