Norwegian gunman listened to "Lord of the Rings" music during massacre
The Norwegian gunman who killed 76 people,
Anders Breivik,
appeared in court in Oslo yesterday
with a creepy smile on his face.
In his 1,518 page manifesto published online,
he lauded Japan, South Korea and Taiwan
for "rejecting multiculturism"
and "embracing monoculturism."
He also praised British composer Clint Mansell's Lux Aeterna
as an incredible piece,
and vowed to use it during his killing spree.
A version of the song is used in "The Lord of the Rings" movie.
Eye-witnesses said that
before he started shooting on Utoya Island,
he first put on his earphones,
and listened to the Lord of the Rings music as he fired.
He said the music was "incredibly powerful,"
and that he "may use it as a tool to suppress fear if needed."
The music became
the Requiem Mass for the 68 lives lost on Utoya Island.
To prevent similar incidents from happening,
European countries are now employing higher security standards.
Yesterday 150,000 Norwegian people
held flowers and candles,
and marched along Oslo roads,
vowing to combat violence with love.
