War Sum Up is a large war-machine
that spits out voice, music and images
It's a music-performance
Music. Manga. Machines.
It's a performance with 12 singers
who sing about war.
They tell of certain characters:
A modern soldier,
who suffers from PTSD,
returns to the war,
and dies in an explosion.
A war monument is built in his name.
It tells of the eternal warrior
who dies on the battlefield.
In relation to colour,
light has played a very important role.
But also that there is no outside light
that comes into the room,
when you make theatre,
It's a kind of work-uniform,
for those that have to wear it.
It means that there are many possibilities,
but you must create something that can be used
as there are people
who must stand and pose or act in it
even though you can create many fun things
you have to think, "okay it's too hot"
I really enjoy working with light the way we do at Hotel Pro Forma:
That it is almost its own world.
This "light" world meets
this "music" world
which also meets the other art forms.
So the audience,
depending on who they are
will perceive these meetings in different ways.
And this creates some new images which we have never seen before.
and this I believe in completely, which is why
I like it so much.
