Hey guys, Jason here with John McLean. He's going to show you the Hill Descent Control.
It's going to safely take you down the mountain, say is it's snowy, icy, that sort of thing
or if it's just slippery gravel playing around in it outdoors. So, right now he's going to
show you, it's in, what, four-wheel drive low, John? Umm-hmm, yep. And without putting
his foot on the gas or the brake it's just going to slowly take you down hill and it's
for, what sort of road conditions would this be helpful for, John? Off-roading and also
snowy conditions but it also has a "Snow" mode specifically. But this is really cool
if you've ever had like a downhill, muddy road that you were scared to drive, this will
control everything for you. And now, what's the main reason that Chrysler put this - the
Ascent and Descent controls in the vehicle here, do you know? So that people could go
off-road confidently. And so that they could, I guess, focus on just the steering and it'll
automatically move forward by itself. It makes it more fun to go off-roading and not worry
about your vehicle. Alright cool, let's go ahead and turn this thing around and show
it going uphill real quick. Cool. And we're back! Turned around the other direction, so
we're back up the hill. Making sure it's in four-wheel drive low. Getting us set up with
the Hill Ascent Control. Alright. Are we going? Umm-hmm. Foot off there? And we are still
moving forward, we're still crawling up this hill here. At 0.6 miles per hour. 0.6! That's
riveting! But why are we going so slow? It helps on off-road. It's a 52:1 crawl ratio.
Aha. But you can go faster, I just don't know how. [Laugh] That's something for another
day I guess, huh? Yep. Alright, well thanks for showing us that, let's show them the Hill
Start Assist real quick. Haha! That's the best way to show it! Okay, so what's it doing?
Well, when I went from Selec-Speed, and then I go "un-Select". And it holds it here? It
hold it - it held it. And show the difference of that if you take it out of drive and you
put it in neutral what happens right now? Well that's a big difference! 5 mile per hour
backwards! Ain't good. Alright well. And watch, going, I have my foot, it is holding us on
a hill and it did hold us at the beginning. So it holds for about 5 seconds I think, right, let's
count 'em? Yeah, and now we're going backwards. Nice!
