we've all heard about the Koch brothers and there's a really really funny story
going on with the Koch brothers and a different set of brothers who were
democratic donors I'm talking about Tom Stier who is a retired billionaire
financier
he's emerged as a really big democratic candidate financial backer
and he plans to spend as much as a hundred million dollars this next
election cycle pressuring officials
to enact climate change legislation through a group that he
cofounded called NextGen climb it action
he has a brother named James Dyer who's a children's advocate
and he announced in February that he's launching a national political
advocacy group he's also talked about maybe starting
a super PAC so listen to this this I I just love this
David and Charles Koch are big right-wing
funders okay and wanna the nonprofits the conservative nonprofit that day fund
released a new web ad which counters
some I attacks democratic attacks
on the money that the Koch brothers are spending the book the group is called
American commitment it's backed by the Koch brothers and it spent fifty
thousand bucks on this ad which is going to run online
and it draws from a speech were senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid is a Democrat from Nevada up where
he attacks the Koch brothers as un-american for what they're doing in
the american commitment add basically says
hold on a second Harry Reid is saying this about the Koch brothers
but he's not criticizing Tom in jim's Stier who are the really big democratic
donors they're the ones that Harry reader should
actually be criticizing this is so funny
on a few different levels number one remember
I'm against money in politics I'm against the funding system we have here
in politics but the accusation that is being made by the Koch brothers
is that this tire brothers are making political contributions for their own
personal gain
if I've ever seen an example love the pot calling the kettle black
that exactly what the Koch brothers do in fact
this ad was created by a group that the Koch brothers funded
for personal political gain I don't know if the irony is lost on
well a it that doesn't matter just not as if the irony is lost on the people
who are watching the ad I
which it I don't know a lot of them probably just won't even know who the
Koch brothers are these other brothers are
the idea that the Koch brothers are criticizing
other brothers for using their money for political influence is just hilarious
if it's true that the stock higher by theirs are bad for America
then it has to be true that the Koch brothers are bad for
for america but aside from the entire structure being completely corrupt
against money in politics and the influence that these guys have
but if we are to compare apples for apples the Koch brothers stand for
anti education anti-science
denying global warming misogyny being against LGBT rights being against the
women's right to choose what medical procedures make sense for them
there against workers this stair brothers
want to save the planet and save children
so while I agree that they stand to benefit from some from
from some of these proposals and that the entire system is corrupt if I have
to choose if I look at the agendas have the Koch brothers in the stair brothers
I'm certainly not going to choose the Koch brothers Louis
yeah the difference is that everyone stands to benefit
from promised their broker for a and what they're proposing a but it's just
the one percent to you
benefit from with the Koch brothers you doing those damn democrat rich their
brothers always trying to help children and save the environment
just for their own personal satisfaction those evil evil guys
the the the hypocrisy and double standard at the Koch brothers is
amazing
