Moment of Reflection
FROM A LETTER OF SAN LUIS GONZAGA TO YOUR MOTHER
St. Aloysius Gonzaga was born in 1568 near Mantua in Lombardy - Italy
son of the princes of Castiglione.
Raised in a Christian by his mother,
showed early signs of great aspiration for religious life.
Renouncing principality in favor of his brother,
entered the Society of Jesus in Rome and during his theological studies,
indulging in the service of the sick in hospitals,
contracted an illness that led to his death in the year 1591.
He was only 23 years old.
FOREVER WILL SING THE MERCY OF THE LORD
"The grace and consolation of the Holy Spirit be with you always.
Your letter found me still living in the region of the dead;
but now I hope to go soon praise God forever in the living area.
I really thought that, at this time, would have taken this step.
If the charity, according to St. Paul,
teaches weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who are gay,
too large to be the joy of your lordship,
great grace that God grants you in me,
calling me to true joy and giving me the security I can not ever lose.
I confess to you, Illustrious Lady,
I miss and *** in contemplation of divine goodness, beach and sea without bottomless,
I called an eternal rest for a job as short and small;
that invites and draws me to heaven there to give me that sovereign right that looked so carelessly,
and promises that the fruit of those tears that spilled so poorly.
Therefore, Illustrious Lady, consider well and put every care not to offend this goodness of God,
as surely happen if ye should come crying
dead who will live in the contemplation of God
and services that will make you more with their prayers on this earth than you paid.
Our separation is brief, in Heaven we will become to do;
there will be happy and live forever together
because we are united with our Redeemer, praising Him
with all the forces of our soul, singing eternally His mercies.
If God takes back what they had given us,
not only does it to put in place more secure and protected from any danger,
and to give us those goods that above all we want.
I tell you all this so that you, my Lady Mother
and the whole family, acceptable to my death as a precious gift of grace.
May your mother's blessing to help me achieve happiness with the port of my desires and hopes.
I write to You with as much pleasure is right
that I have no time for you to witness the respect and filial love that Vos should. "
(The Liturgy of the Hours)
Dear brethren, that wonderful letter to his mother.
It is so rich in faith in the value of eternal life to which God the Father created us!
Oh, and S. Louis sees death as a grace from the Father in heaven who comes to pick you up to Paradise!
And as we want eternal life? We aspire to heaven, or still attached to the goods of the earth? ....
A good lady made some verses that are worth knowing:
"I have to make a trip
The day I do not know right
I know what I have,
I will take nothing
Only take what you gave! "
The Blessing of God the Father who created us, the Son who redeemed us and the Holy Spirit who has sanctified us,
descend upon you and remain forever! - Amen.
